Na kole do Hluboké nad Vltavou

The last cycling trip we made, was planed in very romantic spirit. We visited Hluboká nad Vltavou castle. In the vicinity of the castle there are many sport activities like golf and adrenaline park.

This cycling trip will lead you to fairy tail like castle Hluboká nad Vlatavou. The route to Hloboká nad Vltavou is approximately 17 km long and will lead you through a couple of South Bohemian villages. From Mrhal pond you have to go to Rudolfov. There we connect on the bicycle path 1107 to Libíč village where you go to the left in the direction of Mojský les. Here is bicycle path 122 which leads through Borek to Hrdějovice. Behind Hrdějovice we stray to Opatovice. Through Opatovice leads  bicycle path 1052. From here you follow blue turistic mark which will lead you through a forest road to Hluboká nad Vltavou. From the distance you will see the silhouette of Hluboká castle.

Hluboká castle

The first mention of the castle comes from 13. century during its developement it changed owner in 16. century when the family of Schwarzenbergs became its owner. In 17. century Hluboká castle stopped being sufficient for banquets and hunts so they had castle Ohrada build just for these purposes. The main initiator of the neogothic reconstruction was princess Eleonora.
